As far as I remember, the jounalist said that he thought this summit would be a disaster, to which Yeltsin replied that “I can tell you that you are a disaster!”.
Clinton started laughing, because in the States, a politician could never speak with the press like that. That’s why he also said “make sure you’ve got the right attribution” – to make sure they don’t write it down as if he said that.
